Summary

This information graphic poster was the culmination of a semester’s worth of research into Toronto’s water distribution system for my final thesis. The poster examines contributing factors to the problem of water main breaks, and breaks down the different layers of the problem. As part of the early visual research that I undertook, I created a booklet that documented various infrastructure typologies around the university campus (see investigations below). Based on the research done for this poster, I went on to make Messence, a concept social network that would make it easy for urban planners and citizens to model and share the nature of urban planning and infrastructure problems.
